Após dois anos de cerimônia restrita, o Emmy voltou em formato presencial e trouxe uma edição bastante surpreendente. A minissérie “The White Lotus“, da HBO, foi a maior vencedora da noite. Com 20 indicações, a produção foi contemplada com 5 estatuetas, incluindo a categoria de Melhor Minissérie ou Antologia. A dramática “Succession” não fica para trás; também da HBO, a série levou 3 estatuetas esta noite, incluindo a de Melhor Série de Drama.
Nas categorias de atuação, Zendaya foi contemplada na categoria de Melhor Atriz em Série de Drama por “Euphoria“, enquanto Lee Jung-Jae venceu em Melhor Ator em Série de Drama pelo papel em “Round 6“. A atriz Julia Garner venceu a categoria de Melhor Atriz Coadjuvante em Série de Drama por “Ozark“, já Matthew Macfadyen levou a categoria de Ator Coadjuvante em Série de Drama por “Succesion”.
Em comédia, Jean Smart levou pela atuação na série “Hacks” e Jason Sudeikes foi contemplado por seu papel em “Ted Lasso“. A produção protagonizada por Sudeikes foi a maior vencedora no gênero, levando 4 das principais categorias. A série “Abbot Elementary” foi contemplada em duas categorias, incluindo a de Melhor Roteiro em Série de Comédia.
